Allah-Las: LAHS (Indie Exclusive Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP
âWeâve been traveling a lot the past couple years and I think that played a role in influencing the broader variety of songs on this record.â L.A.âs Allah-Las began their journey on Innovative Leisure with Nick Waterhouse behind the boards, but since 2016âs Calico Review have found themselves right at home on Mexican Summer. Their fourth album LAHSÂ (inspired by a common misspelling of the bandâs name) expands on their dusty psychedelic desert folk, looking beyond well-trodden west coast sound signatures for a newly widescreen sound thatâs vaguely reminiscent of bossa nova, tropicalia, krautrock and AM pop without relying on tropes. Mellotron and backwards guitar coalesce with tempered drumming and stoned vocals like the most psychedelic Beatles jams or the wispier, more atmospheric passages from Ariel Pinkâs The Doldrums. Check out âRoco Ono,â âHolding Pattern,â âOn Our Wau,â âRoyal Blues,â âPolar Onionâ or Portuguese ballad "Prazer Em Te Conhecerâ for a taste. Indie exclusive orange colored vinyl pressing with download code.
