Beach House: Teen Dream Vinyl 2LP
In my opinion, this is the best starting point in Beach Houseās discography (i.e. - the first vinyl record I gave to my sister). Sonically, itās a big step up from their lower fidelity self-titled and Devotion records, with Victoria Legrandās vocals mixed up front-and-center, showcasing her growth in lyricism. However, itās not nearly as studio polished as Bloom or Depression Cherry;Ā still capturing the raw minimalism of their earlier work. Off the bat, the album starts with fan favorites āZebraā and āSilver Soul,ā the latter of which was sampled in Kendrick Lamarās āMoney Trees.ā The lead singles āNorwayā and āUsed to Beā also bless side A, although I will say that āWalk in the Parkā is a better representation of the direction they were moving in at this time. Side B contains the excellent deep cut ā10 Mile Stereoā as well as the beautiful album closer āTake Care,ā which still consistently finds its wayĀ onto their setlists. 10 tracks altogether on black vinyl, recommended.
- black double vinyl pressing
- housed in gatefold sleeve w/ printed insert
- digital download included
- original release year: 2010
- music label:Ā Sub Pop 2022
