Early Beasties hardcore material back on wax! Just a few years before Rick Rubin produced the rap trioās multi-platinum debut Licensed To Ill out of his NYU dorm room, the Beastie Boys were a bunch of punks tearing up theĀ L.E.S. hardcore scene. Formed out of another hardcore group, The Young Aborigines, the Beasties were initially a quartet with Kate Schellenbach on drums. You could catch them playing alongside Bad Brains and Reagan Youth at legendary punk venues like CBGBs and A7Ā (right down the block fromĀ our old 7th St. storefront). The elegantly titled Some Old Bullshit compiles early punk tracks like āTransit Copā and āEgg Raid on Mojoā from their 1982 EP Polly Wog Stew alongside their first hip-hop single āCooky Puss.ā It also includes two demos from Tim Sommerās college radio program Noise the Show. 14 tracks on 180g vinyl withĀ folded liner note insert.
