Belle And Sebastian: Days Of The Bagnold Summer Soundtrack Vinyl LP
Days of the Bagnold Summer is a tender and humorous coming of age film adapted from a graphic novel by Joff Winterhart. The soundtrack features 11 new tracks by Glaswegian indie legends Belle & Sebastian in addition to re-recorded versions of catalog classics âGet Me Away From Here I'm Dying,â (originally appearing on 1996's If Youâre Feeling Sinister) and âI Know Where The Summer Goesâ (a bit of a rarity, hailing from 1998's This Is Just a Modern Rock Song EP). âSister Buddhaâ starts the disc with instrumental acoustic warmth, leading into âI Know Where The Summer Goesâ, a neat slice of sunny, organ-driven indie pop. âSafety Valveâ includes tasteful violin slashes, âWait And See What the Day Holdsâ is one of the more minimalist / downtempo tunes here, Stewart Murdochâs voice fading to a near whimper. The album ends with the piano-led âWe Were Never Gloriousâ, with muted, heavenly vocals and a full array of chamber pop instrumentation. This record is packaged in a reverse board gatefold sleeve and includes full album lyrics.
