Betonkust & Palmbomen II: Hotel Breukelen Vinyl 12"
HELLO BREUKELEN. Dutch-born, L.A.-based Palmbomen II teams up again with old pal Betonkust to follow up their debut as a duo on 1080p with this 6-trackĀ EP on Dutch techno imprint Pinkman. Tape saturation is still the duoās weapon of choice: the record traverses an array of styles all the while staying firmly in the red. From bleepy acid techno (āN401ā) to blown-up & blissed-out electro (āBoven De Wetā); the darker side of Kraftwerk ("Donkerblauwe Autoās") to the darker side of Legowelt (āSuite 100ā). Hotel Breukelen is not without its gentler moments, though: āZwaluwā sounds like the āX-Filesā theme retooled for theĀ chillout room.
