Daphni has been pretty quiet since 2017, which saw his long-awaited contribution to the Fabriclive mix series in addition to the release of his second long player under his alias, Joli Mai. Mr. Snaith’s 2019 return is a 4 track EP that consists of a solid set of fierce re-edits of crate digger gold, some of which may already be familiar to avid listeners of his DJ sets. Title track “Sizzling” is based off an obscure disco-funk tune by Bermudan band Paradise, Daph gooses the guitars and boosts the low-end of the primary break. “If” begins with a jazzy piano loop that quickly shifts to double-time drums, “Romeo” is a squelchy percussive workout with brilliantly sampled strings. “Just” is an ecstatic disco banger that features a sample from “It's the Little Things” written by George Harley Semper. This is pretty much sold out everywhere else, so quit reading and add this to yr cart. You won’t regret it.
