Verity Susman and Emma Gaze formed Electrelane in 1998, and No Shouts No Calls is the the Brighton band’s 4th and possibly the last (Electrelane is currently on an indefinite hiatus) studio album. Informed by Krautrock & indie pop, the 11-tracker is considered to contain the outfits best work. Check out the metal-inspired “Between the Wolf and the Dog,” or the contrast of dream pop and the fleshed-out rock of “After The Call.” “Tram 21” is also a highlight, and the closer “The Lighthouse” is hectic, calming and delicate all at the same time. Also check the beautiful keys that drive “In Berlin,” or the catchy harmonies of “At Sea.”
