However, Apperciation is distinguished from Horse Feathers' previous efforts; the record employs a brand new rhythm section, and instead of lush soundscape and strings leading the charge, Northern Soul-indebted cadences, w/ help from Hammond organ, piano, tambourine, and finger snaps are at the center of the musical framework. It's a musical step forward for ringle and gang, and their dynamic brand of folk rock is ready to take on a much larger audience.
