Los Angeles slow-funk maestro Dyami O’Brien aka Jamma-Dee polishes off a fine trilogy of EPs for NYC’s Arcane imprint. Side A sports three lush house grooves that assimilate nicely with Jammy’s signature cosmopolitan diva-laden street soul, which occupies the B side. The waterlogged chipmunk swing of “Come 2 Me,” squeeky clean synth-jaz-house à la CVO on “Jump” and rolling breaks-infused smooth jazz of “Lost” and “We Run Tha World” deserve special mention but honestly, all 6 tracks go down sweet and smooth as a snifter of VSOP. Housed in die-cut purrrple jacket with some of O’Brien’s original art on the included postcard. Recommended.
