TheĀ original sound of Laputa.Ā Legendary Japanese composerĀ Joe HisaishiĀ created the music found on thisĀ Image AlbumĀ forĀ Castle In The SkyĀ beforeĀ theĀ soundtrack. LikeĀ otherĀ Image Albums, these songsĀ were inspired by andĀ produced based on original concept artwork - in this caseĀ MiyazakiĀ and producer Isao Takahata gave Hisaishi an illustration of the flying castle,Ā from which Hisaishi-san crafted these songs toĀ serve as the basis for theĀ actual film soundtrack. AsĀ originalĀ copies are scarce andĀ expensive even in Japan, this first time vinyl reissue is more than welcome. Limited editionĀ 2018 import, complete with a double jacket, obi strip, and duplicate cel featuring the film's main protagonists Pazu and Sheeta. Recommended.
