“Descriptive scores for scenes of visual impact.” The KPM Musichouse has origins dating back to the 1860’s partnership of composers Keith Prowse and Peter Maurice. Music from this library (currently owned by EMI) has been featured in endless television programs and films in the UK and across the globe, and this series of compilation records has become iconic to crate diggers, samplers, and general record nerds the world over. Originally released in 1976, this is the rare example of a library record that is a seriously great listen from start to finish, not a mere collection of odds and ends that leave you desiring more. “Nuplex” by Brian Bennet is an absolute highlight - an epic, sweeping slab of synth funk and smooth orchestral arrangements. “Low Profile” is low-slung bass and skittering congas, “Canaveral Scape” by John Scott is sublime strings and brass, “Sequence of Event” is a walking bassline and slinky horns, “Jaguar” is an off-filter kick drum and bass and guitar vamps. You may be familiar with “Flight of the Phoenix”, which was sampled by M.O.P. for their NYC hip hop classic “We Run New York”.  Remastered from the original analogue tapes by Simon Francis, the sleeve elements were recreated by current KPM designer Richard Robinson. This is the first ever reissue of this title, with original copies costing up to $200 on the secondary market. Brace for impact.
