KPM Music Library: Visual Impact Vinyl (180g) LP
âDescriptive scores for scenes of visual impact.â The KPM Musichouse has origins dating back to the 1860âs partnership of composers Keith Prowse and Peter Maurice. Music from this library (currently owned by EMI) has been featured in endless television programs and films in the UK and across the globe, and this series of compilation records has become iconic to crate diggers, samplers, and general record nerds the world over. Originally released in 1976, this is the rare example of a library record that is a seriously great listen from start to finish, not a mere collection of odds and ends that leave you desiring more. âNuplexâ by Brian Bennet is an absolute highlight - an epic, sweeping slab of synth funk and smooth orchestral arrangements. âLow Profileâ is low-slung bass and skittering congas, âCanaveral Scapeâ by John Scott is sublime strings and brass, âSequence of Eventâ is a walking bassline and slinky horns, âJaguarâ is an off-filter kick drum and bass and guitar vamps. You may be familiar with âFlight of the Phoenixâ, which was sampled by M.O.P. for their NYC hip hop classic âWe Run New Yorkâ. Remastered from the original analogue tapes by Simon Francis, the sleeve elements were recreated by current KPM designer Richard Robinson. This is the first ever reissue of this title, with original copies costing up to $200 on the secondary market. Brace for impact.Â
