Lee Dorsey, Allen Toussaint, and The Meters bringing bayou flames. It all went down on 1970's Yes We Can, as Dorsey teamed up once again with legendary producer Allen Toussaint, with The Meters in tow as the backing band. Obviously with such a potent combination of artists, the funk is potent and thorough, with rich N'awlins soul just seeping out of the grooves. Several of the tracks here would later be covered into hits (i.e. "Yes We Can" by the Pointer Sisters and "Sneakin' Sally Thru The Alley" by Robert Palmer), but this album is where to find the funky originals, and several others. This 2018 Music On Vinyl pressing comes on audiophile 180 gram green colored vinyl, and is housed with printed insert featuring song lyrics. Individually numbered edition of 1,000.
