While they were not the founders, Os Mutantes are mostly seen as the ambassadors for the Tropicalia / Psychedelic movement of the late 60s into the 70s that caused a stir with the Brazilian government and brought new levels of thinking to the people. The fine folks at Luaka Bop turned on a whole new generation to the wild sounds back in 1999 and compiled this release showcasing the early work of the group with essential cuts.
