Adventurous collaborative full-length from British globetrotter/producer William Holland aka Quantic and Colombian folklore singer Nidia Góngora. Góngora first appeared on Holland’s radar when he was living in Colombia in 2007 and heard her voice emanating through the wall from his neighbor’s CD player. 10 years and a string of successful collabs later, the duo present their first full collaborative LP. Curao is a potent fusion of Colombian marimba with forward-thinking production, tropical instrumentation and danceable rhythms, so it’s no surprise that Gilles Peterson is caning this.
