JUST RELAX. Montreal producer Riohv (née Braden Thompson) follows up his 2014 cassette for 1080p Collection with an entry in the label’s twelve-inch series containing 6 cuts of lush breaks and IDM. After opening with 7 minutes of breezy, sunlit electro (“Redux”), Thompson moves through atmospheric breakbeat (“Green Room”), jazzy acid house (“Stingray”) and armchair techno (“Sun Shadow”). But the real standout is “Juice It”: an expert slice of moody ragga jungle reminiscent of a ’94 Dee Jay or Lucky Spin Recordings twelve.
