Saves The Day: Stay What You Are (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl 2x10"
Third album from New Jersey emo heroes Saves The Day, originally released in 2001. Stay What You Are marked a shift in the bandâs sound from the energized pop punk / Jersey emo of their first two albums to a more melodic sound, characterized by slower ballads like âFreakish,â âNightingaleâ and âThis Is Not An Exit.â The band worked with celebrated Elliott Smith producer Rob Schnapf and Stay What You Are turned out to be their most commercially successful album to date. There are traces of the bandâs earlier sound, like âSee You,â âCertain Tragedy,â but the pop punk edginess is smoothed over with sparkling guitars and singer Chris Conleyâs saccharine melodies, and some of the more frenetic moments break out into sugary singalong passages, like âAt Your Funeralâ and album closer âFirefly.â Double 10-inch edition reissued to celebrated 25 years of Vagrant Records.
- yellow & brown colored 2x10" vinyl pressing
- housed in gatefold sleeve w/Â printed insert
- limited edition
- original release year: 2001
