BOB SEGER MEETS ENYA AND JONI MITCHELL PRODUCED BY BRIAN ENO are just two of the recipes I have found for Titanic Rising, the latest LP by Weyes Blood. They’re apt in their own ways, encapsulating the sequenced din of “Movies” and the eerie strings of “Andromeda”, the tug of war between chamber-folk and 70’s FM psychedelia. Her lyrics are poignant yet conversational, it makes sense that she often credits Mr. Seger as as her top inspiration. Her voice is pitch perfect, crafting soaring melodies, dramatic yet carefree. Co-produced by Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado, this record will deservedly top year end lists. This record is pressed on limited edition 'Loser Edition' dark red colored vinyl.
